Ad posting or blog/article posting?
A few years ago people built their business online by posting ads everywhere, free ads, paid ads, ezine ads, etc. Today things have changed a little. Is not that ads don’t work anymore, it’s just that you should not be limiting yourself to just posting ads to promote your business.
When marketing your business, instead of spending your day posting ads everywhere and paying for advertising in many places, create a plan to write content articles or blog posts… this is a great and FREE way to get in front of your target market, especially if you’re just getting started in business and you don’t have much money to spend on marketing tools or advertisement.
Spend most of your time creating content that will turn you into “THE expert”. But be careful! I don’t mean writing a great long copy ad and posting it “disguised as an article”. I mean real information that will actually help others.
How is that helpful to your business?, you ask?
- people read content, they scan and skip ads
- people save good content for later reference
- people forward content to others who might be interested
- people look for content to add to their newsletters or websites
- people will see you as someone who knows, instead of someone who spams ads
- people will be curious to know more about you and what else you’ve written
- people will go to your site to see what you do
- people will remember your name and if they need your product or service, they’ll google you
- speaking of google, content will make you a google “celebrity”, people will be able to find you through your content indexed by google
Talk about the law of attraction here, huh? You will be attracting people, they will start contacting you for more information.
And if you keep adding content on a regular basis, you will be always in their minds and you’ll be perceived as a resource. They will actually look forward to hear from YOU!
