Do you write your articles in a glass half full or half empty view?
I was just reading a few articles trying to find inspiration to write a blog post today and I sure found inspiration… I kept reading these MLM articles from the same man, the articles were supposed to be helpful for MLM’ers but every one of his articles that I read had the same type of “quit your MLM now” air in them. What’s up with that?
I know that you’re supposed to write articles and blog posts to drive traffic to your websites, but why choose to do it in a negative way?
What his articles make me think is…
- Is he having a hard time building his business and he’s projecting his feelings in the articles?
- Is he considering leaving his opportunity and he’s letting it show in his articles?
- Is he afraid of the competition and he wants everyone to run away from MLM opportunities?
If I was searching to join a MLM opportunity, I would certainly stay away from his company and him as a potential sponsor. I’m sure that is not what he’s trying to portray but to me he doesn’t realize that he’s writing his articles with an emphasis on the “half empty glass” view and since no one wants to fail and suffer on purpose I would save myself the trouble.
Now, let’s be realistic, there are good MLM opportunities, there are better MLM opportunities and there are opportunities that shouldn’t even exist, but MLM opportunities have endured years of discrimination and bad reputation and if we are with a great company with great products, as responsible MLM’ers, is our duty to let the world know that is possible to find a reputable company with quality products that really work and change lives.
So, we must always write our articles and blog posts using the “glass half full” view, ALL business owners (not only MLM’ers) face obstacles they must overcome, but telling them to quit at the first sign of trouble is NOT the answer. Remember that your articles are going to be easily found online by your team members, upline, downline, potential customers and potential recruits and potential business partners; you don’t want to give the wrong impression, you want them to see you as an expert and a resource.
Your articles should offer solutions to your readers, let them know there is something positive to learn with every challenge, people search online for a solution to their problems, for information that let them know they are not alone and that they can overcome the obstacle, people who work from home go online to seek motivation and camaraderie, not someone to push them further down in deep depression.
If you are writing about a bad experience, a challenge you know your downline will most likely face, a common obstacle or objection, make a 180 turn and try to see what would be the positive lesson to learn and write about it looking at your glass half full, not half empty. It’s not that hard.
