Today I woke up to a MLM’er nightmare!
“Peddle the product”, “Lead with the product”, “search for retail customers”, “become a product of the product”… you’ve heard it before and I have been following that advice faithfully.
What I forgot to do was to include in EVERY product that goes out, EVERY bag, EVERY catalog, EVERY flier, EVERY biz card… these magical words: “earn an additional income with XYZ, join my team here: www.whateveryoururl.com or call 1-800-REP-LOST” 
This morning my husband was putting together some “secret valentine” pranks for his “secret valentine” at the office. He included a straw, a soap, a shower cap and a sample packet of one of the products my company markets.
I told him: “Hey, now they are going to know it’s you because of the XYZ Packet” and he told me… “Don’t worry!” (Ha!) “because Wilma now sells XYZ products too!”
Try assimilating that at 5:30 in the morning!
I never made it clear that there was an earning opportunity, that I could get them started, I trusted the catalog back cover and my little label… but I NEVER made it clear that I wanted them to join MY team.
So from now on, every catalog that goes out will include my own flier with “earn an additional income with XYZ, join my team here: www.whateveryoururl.com or call 1-800-JOIN-MEE”, every product will include a label with the same information…
Oh well, at least a lesson was learned
